Deadwood...Daniel Torelli

Daniel Torelli
TV Critic Assignment Part 1
Three Notable Critics:
  1. The first critic I decided to write about was a man named Evan Saathoff who primarily works as a media news critic for the cult media website BadassDigest.com. The interesting thing about his style—while always filled with snark, often pays attention to less heard of movies and television shows. He is a good reviewer to read for people interested in cult media but aren't sure where to start. His reviews are always engaging and from his unique and eccentric perspective. While he usually goes by his normal name, sometimes he uses different aliases for his reviews that have different personalities. An example of this is the character Sam Strange.
  2. The second critic I looked into was a man named Brian Collins. He isn't as much as a media news critic as he is a horror movie enthusiast. As a big horror fan, myself I enjoy reading his reviews of horror movies because he provides an in depth look into them and does not think of them just as genre movies but actual films. He also sometimes writes on BadassDigest, but for many years had his own website called Horrormovieaday.com, where he would watch and review a new horror movie every single day.
  3. The third critic I chose was the late great Roger Ebert. He worked as a film critic, journalist, screenwriter, film historian and author. His book that made his name famous was “Beyond The Valley of The Dolls.” While I usually disagreed with his opinions, I find his constant conviction and extreme love of film in general to be admirable. Ebert stated his opinions with so much conviction that he is not the type of person I would ever want to have a friendly debate about a movie with.
